What does it do?

With “Going green 3.0” you will be able to:

  • Track emissions from every shipment in the main transport modes: Air, Sea, Road and Rail.  The data will be available in near real-time and will adjust automatically to changes in routing and modes during the shipment lifecycle.

  • Provide emissions data for historical shipments for your customers (as far back as you have the shipment data)

  • Provide automated charging for emission data, This can be included as a line item as part of the invoicing

  • Provide your customer with emissions information, down to individual SKU, at a timing that will allow the customer to potentially put it on the labelling of the product. Emissions labelling may soon become a compliance requirement in some countries.

  • Provide add-hoc periodic emissions reports for any customer whenever required at the press of a button.

  • Set up emissions KPI’s for individual customers – with alerts for your operators – allowing your customers to actively manage their emissions. This can, of course, be a chargeable service and can be automatically included in invoicing.

  • Provide standard reports with the legally required emissions information for your customers to report to the stock market *

  • Provide standard reports with the legally required emissions information for your company to report to the stock market *

  • Provide the underlying data required for executive boards to have confidence in the data and take action if required **

  • Proactively implement carbon offset options

    * As additional services we can provide emissions data and compliance reporting across your customers (or your) whole company, not just logistics activities.

    ** The carbon offset options are available retroactively and well as directly in relation to shipments and other activities

How does it work?

Our system takes routing information from CargoWise and combines this with verified external sources of emissions data to calculate emissions for each shipment. It then injects that information back into CargoWise and makes the data available at both an individual shipment level and in summary as part of a management information dashboard. 

What will it tell me?

Using Power BI software, Going Green 3.0 can automatically provide the following impactful reports, available by specified transport mode and combined across all modes:

  • Emission average per shipment mile, globally region by region, this will show the impact of how each region is blending transport types

  • Emission average per shipment mile, for the Top-10 EMEA land transport trade lands (selected by number of shipments) – this will show how well the logistics company is optimising loads on each lane

  • Emission average per shipment mile, for the Top-20 EMEA land transport hauliers (selected by number of shipments) – this will show how well we are optimising loads working between the hauliers, the freight team and the factories

  • Emission average per shipment mile, for the Top-10 North America land transport trade lands (selected by number of shipments) - this will show how well the factories are optimising loads on each lane

  • Emission average per shipment mile, for the Top-20 global trade lands (selected by number of shipments) - this will show who is using air over ocean or road more than others.

  • Emission average per shipment mile, by origin by month - this will show which factories and supply chain managers are best managing emissions.

  • Total emissions by month/quarter for each country (recipient driven) – comparing these will show who is improving their emissions management over time

  • Total emissions by month/quarter for each shipper (sender driven) – comparing these it will show who is improving their emissions management over time

In addition, bespoke reports can be designed as required to meet your specific requirements.

Carbon Offsetting 

With “Going green 3.0” you will be able to:

  • Provide an automated Carbon offset solution for any of your customers who want it

  • Allow you customers to ‘pick & choose’ which shipments (if any) to carbon offset – available at all levels from ‘all my shipments’, through individual routes down to individual shipments. Your operators can set this up at a tick of a box.

  • Allow your customers to pre-set some shipments to be carbon offset (e.g. if they want to create a carbon neutral product range)

  • Manage the Carbon offset planning periods to suit your individual customer (1, 3 or 12 month base intervals)

  • Allow your customer (if they so desire) to pick the carbon offset projects they want to sponsor – the choice will be available for marketing use with some materials provided.

  • Automatically include a Carbon offset cost item in billing for each shipment where so desired

  • Manage Carbon offsets down to individual shipments at the tick of a box
